EarthquakeMove is often affected by terrain. This move:

  • Deals half as much damage on terrain without solid ground—grass, pond, sea, mire, or underwater; "The move was weakened by terrain!"
  • Hits a second time with 40 power on rocky, snow, or volcanic terrain. This second hit is Rock-type Ice-type, or Fire-type respectively; "The move was enhanced by terrain!"
  • Fails when used on sky terrain, like all Ground-type moves.
  • Can hit Flying-type or levitating porkmen on cave terrain or under intense gravity, like all Ground-type moves. If a target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of Burrow or Dig, EarthquakeMove bypasses accuracy checks to always hit and will deal double damage.
